Announcing our Scholarship Endowment with Ryerson University
In 2018, thanks to your support, the Foundation achieved its goal of raising enough money to establish an endowed scholarship. The Foundation provided Ryerson with a $25,000 endowment, proceeds of which will go directly toward funding future awards in Nate’s memory. This endowment will allow the Nate Black Memorial Entrance Award to exist in perpetuity.
The Nate Black Memorial Entrance Award was established to honour Nate‘s memory by providing the next generation of high achievers with an opportunity to excel and achieve their fullest potential. This award recognizes a student each year entering first year of an undergraduate program at Ryerson who demonstrates strong academic performance, community leadership, and athletic involvement in high school.
The award will be available to any Canadian citizen who has attended at least grade 12 in a Toronto District School Board or Toronto Catholic District School Board and who demonstrates financial need. Selected students will be awarded $1,000 each year over the course of the student’s undergraduate studies, contingent on maintaining eligibility and to a maximum of four years.
We are excited for this new partnership and continuation of Nate‘s legacy.
Again, thank you for your generosity, and from everyone at the Nate BlackFoundation we appreciate your continued support.
